Fellow Residents & friends; The situation continues to be extremely fluid with changes seemingly happening every day, or several times a day. Our staff are doing an amazing job at staying up with the ever changing protocols and in turn continue to be a fantastic resource for us as Councillors, who at times are on the outside looking in. Attached is the most recent updates that I can share with you from Dr. Charles Gardner and the SMDHU as well as our LOB Staff, please take the time to digest the information enclosed and try to continue doing your part to stay safe, as much as possible limit contact with others outside of your immediate family and stay home where possible making only necessary trips into town. Working together we will come out the other side with stories to tell but until then stay safre...stay home. Firstly an update/ reminders from our staff: Municipal Offices: Please note that the Municipal Office is open to the public by appointment only to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. We continue to provide services online, by telephone and email. You can also visit our website www.lakeofbays.on.ca for more information. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. For information on local COVID-19 Public Health measures: please contact the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit at 1-877-721-7520 or visit their website at www.simcoemuskokahealth.org . Building Inspectors site visits: Allow a 2-metre distance between the inspector and owners of property or contractors. If entering a dwelling 2-metre distance followed. Limit of three occupants in the building including the inspector. Screening questionnaire filled out by occupants of building before site visit occurs. Non-medical grade masks or fabric face coverings must be worn by all in attendance. Gloves are provided. Following the site visit inspectors sanitize their hands and filing of reports are provided electronically. Covid Enforcement: Acting CAO, Melissa Markham has been appointed the Compliance Officer for the Township. LOB Office policy: We will continue to enable staff to work remotely where possible; however, should our area move into the Red restricted zone all staff will be required to work remotely with the exception of Public Works and Parks & Facilities.
